2005 is one big insane party year for me. The number of clubbing trips actually went down but I think I certainly partied better and if you get to hang out with the best dancers like some kid in the candy store, it’ll just make all other prior parties seemed déclassé.
My transition from an average clubber to a mainstream club dancer has been most satisfying. I would never imagine myself doing dance shows in places like new asia bar/gotham penthouse/dblo/chijmes one year ago and actually getting paid from podium hogging. Haha makes me laugh thinking about how me and Aileen used to hog podiums like it was the most precious thing in the world.
Ended my full time job quite terribly but it was a good learning experience nevertheles, lots to add into my resume. And it’s wonderful to have known so many lovable collegues who took care of me while I’m there, people like Baoru, Qiuju, Jac, Dennis, Limei, Zolyn, Tricia, Yongfong, Lily and so on…we certainly had lotsa fun working together!
The Standard Yardstick
Relationships: let’s just say that after 2005, I’m quite clear about the type of guy I’m looking for.
Friends: Made heckloads of new friends but will there be long lasting friendships? I certainly hope so…
Health: Started jogging. I’m also eating a lot less meat and adding more fruits and vegetables into my diet. In the first half of 2005, my fruit intake is practically zero but discovering my love for papayas changed all that. The downside is, I’m slowly turning into an oompa loompa.
Wealth: Now I actually do have wealth to speak of. Whahaha!
Endnotes
Anyway, 2005 is mostly wonderful. Shitty stuff happened once in a while but I can always count on friends and family to tide me over. You may say “That’s what friends are for” but do you seriously feel that they are obligated to care a shit about you just because they are your friends? No, I’ve seen people coming together for the sake of companionship and they do not care about anyone other than themselves.
I’m thankful to have found more new passions that kept me so alive. 2005 wasn’t perfect but it was very well-lived. Looking forward to 2006 and whatever it brings.
Happy New Year Y’all!
