Took this last night too. Oh anyway, angmo’s name is Aspens (Rev, I almost choked to death). I was honestly flattered by him. Not cuz he’s european. It was mainly cuz there were other girls gushing over him (as were us) and he could have easily picked someone else (MOS was full of beautiful people) but he was sticking to me like superglue. Too bad for him in picking the wrong girl.

Which comes to this. Nice guys are so hard to find! Nice guys interested in me are practically non existence. I wouldn’t usually complain about this but hey, it’s the CNY period. The topic has been mentioned and I’m expecting more. Sighy.

Walked over to MOS at 2 am to meet up with my Aileen, Paul and Arpita. First stop was Smoove, which was packed with bouncing clubbers. There were far too many people there, so we went over to the main arena to have a bit of fun at the podium. Got bored after a while and went up to the hot and humid studio54 to check out the crowd. Left it for Pure. Pure was great! Saw this guy with a really infectious dance. Cute! We then went back to to Studio54. They play proper retro hits and not those mambo jambo junk. Gosh I love it there! Met this really cute caucasian who apparently “likes me a lot” and even tried to kiss me. Bleagh! My friend said she doesn’t mind making out with him cuz he’s super cute. Bimbo!

The chinese guys were giving us dirty looks like we were some SPGs. Oh please. But nah, I don’t like caucasians. Given a choice I would hang out with the Malays.

• Starting work next week. I’ll miss my bumming days.
• Cleaned that disgusting tree. My mum made the tree my responsibility last week when she delegated spring cleaning work for house bummers living in the house, namely me. And whaddayaknow, a huge cockroach flew into that tree the very next day. My Dad had to gloss the whole tree with a layer of insecticide before it decided to leave. I don’t mind the chemicals, but that damn thing crawled all over the tree with its icky hairy legs. Gross!!!! When I was cleaning the leaves, I felt so sorry for myself, I feel like crying. When I’m coding I can be a horrible person. I remember one time I was coding and Tom came over to my place without warning. I think he just came back from a trip to Malaysia and wanted to see me cuz we haven’t seen each other for quite sometime. I ignored the doorbell when it rang so he called me on the phone and told me he is right at my door and he brought some strawberries for me. I told him to leave the strawberries at the door and leave cuz I’m doing stuff. He got mighty pissed and left, I thought he was over reacting.

Some wondered why I didn’t have a boyfriend or why the exes didn’t work out. Don’t have to wonder now eh?

Now that I’m actually willing to move beyond the door for a movie, I think I’m being damn nice already. Yet some people still can’t understand why I spend so much time on codes, saying stuff like “if you decide to get a life, call me.” Or “what do you do besides tweaking your plugins”. WTH! Reverie, I think we’ll end up getting married.

Making a CNY and Vday 2 in one layout. SMART RIGHT!? I swear that lazy people are usually the smartest and most productive bunch of people. Smart because they know ingenious ways of getting the most out of the least amount of effort.

Productive is a bit harder to explain. By productive, I mean getting the most work done with the least amount of time. By time, I mean the actual time spent on “working”. Because if we add in all the time wasted on procrastinating and feeding oneself and engaging in mindless chatters, it’ll make them look bad and useless. And that is hardly fair.

We may not have Tivo but I think starhub digital TV is pretty fine too! You should upgrade to digital if you haven’t. If you don’t subscribe to SCV, I don’t encourage you to start, I don’t wanna see you getting hooked to something like your life depends on it. But then, what else can you do with your television? I think it is quite demeaning to say that I would rather watch static than Channel 8 but then again, that is not far from the truth.

New digital camera in the house too. I like fujifilm a lot but I’m not super hyped about this ipod wannabe. I’m seduced by this little baby instead. Please tell me it sucks.

Ugh, I really need a better plugin. I tried tweaking the plugin a bit but it doesn’t make much of a difference. The other option is to create a separate template much like links.php in the default wordpress template but that means extra work whenever I wanna change my templates. A good blogroll plugin recommendation would be nice.

Reverie is right. I cannot stop tweaking my plugins. Help!

*edits* My links page looks wonderful now because I strike jackpot yet again. RunPHP lets you run your php scripts in normal page. It means you don’t have to built extra templates for your themes cuz with runPHP, you are able to enjoy the flexibility of php codes in your normal pages. Ahhh I think I need to repeat myself again, programmers are so sexy.

I really don’t like people using someone elses work and not credit them. Cuz people automatically assume you came up with the ideas yourself although you know that’s not true. And if this practice becomes too rampant, everyone will start assuming everything’s taken from somewhere else and who wants come up with new ideas then? I find it a point to credit my resources even if the smallest thing. I’m sure I forgot some sources but er not on purpose, don’t take it personally.

Not crediting is one thing, the real crime is to blatantly pretend and manipulate everyone into thinking that someone’s work is your own. That is identity stealing. And omfg, use your own brain for godsake. And even if you happen to have no personality or creativity, you should learn to live with that. Being underprivileged doesn’t give you a right to steal.

I’m trying not to, but I’m utterly disappointed with Fafi.

I’m gonna dedicate 2 years for skills upgrading (getting IT certs, doing masters etc). This is scary as hell cuz I really hope it doesn’t turn out to be a waste of time. My mum said charbo don’t need to be so smart. Heh.

WordPress 2.0 Key Features

What I like

• First and foremost, the ability to import from a generic rss feed. There isn’t an importer written for tabulas users. With this, I can transfer all my tabulas posts over and keep everything under the magical realm of wordpress. Neat. But before that, I need to wait for Roy to come up with full rss feed backup, which should be available soonish.
• Inline uploading. Useful for uploading pictures that I don’t wanna post in my flickr.

What I Don’t like

• Rich text formatting. A little rigid, further dumbifies people and it creates really crufty html codes, which I cannot bear looking. It is actually quite important to write clean codes because if you don’t, you could end up with something like this and have not the slightest clue what went wrong. By the way, this has nothing to do with flickr. Flickr rocks. If you don’t use flickr, you’re an ass.

My favourite is Natalie Portman. Just look at her…wow. It really wasn’t a hard choice to make. I’ve always been a fan of Evangeline Lilly’s beauty but given a high resolution picture where you can scrutinise every line on her face, she doesn’t appear that great after all. Portman is gorgeous even after you blew up her pictures.

While I mourn at the death of the personal site design community I realise the old camgirls faded into oblivion too. While we are a bit narcissistic, we can at least design decent sites which are incomparable to almighty designers like uniquity.org or cummonday.net but they were at least something.

Remember irous, 13 @ endtask, lyndy.org, inner-mind.org, nastynice, angelica etc? Gosh all dead. Actually I know where they are but none of my business to say anyway.

The blog culture is kinda like the Pop music culture. Britney was not considered talented because she apparently cannot sing, although I beg to differ, but at least she can dance like a professional. Jessica simpson can’t dance but at least she can sing….meaning at the very least, they are still great performers. Just watched Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind. It was nice. I still cannot get over Donnie Darko. Argh.

Sidenote:

I told you I used to be obsessed with Astronomy in secondary school right? And from what I learnt in Astronomy back in those days, I figured that time travelling is possible and would tell anyone who cared to listen how it is possible.

That was way before I read about Einstein’s Theory of Relativity but we are kinda talking about the same thing, just that I don’t have all the lingos and mathematical formulas. You don’t know how amazed I was, I was all wowee we think alike. Me and Einstein.

I’m totally not bullshitting you, I can tell you how I landed up with my theory.

Anyway, why am I saying this now? Watch the movie and you’ll understand. One big mindfuck and the reason why I’m still awake.

It’s weird how some movies have no effect whatsoever on you while a few of them hit you so hard you’re short of breath.

Not all cult classics does it for me. Example, Pulp Fiction was totally lost on me. I don’t think Harold and Kumar was funny at all.

However, I think Napolean Dynamite is hilarious and Donnie Darko is just WOW. It’s a masterpiece! In my interpretation, the film is one classic example of self-reflexivity and is even more powerful than that of Citizen Kane. A bold statement coming from me since Citizen Kane probably boasts a bigger cult following. Anyway, I’m kinda reassessing whether I still like Shawshank best. Ah shoot, I’m obsessed with Donnie Darko.
