Was out of office for a bit and my wallpaper magically transformed. The best wallpaper I ever had.
The boyfriend plans to support a few mistresses. If he haven’t already. And to that, I say….okbye.

Joy.nu expired for a while. Yikes! Although I don’t put as much effort maintaining the website as before, I’d still be terribly upset if someone took it away from me.
Joy is such a big thing in my life. It’s perpetually there. I know how being happy all the time is annoying to some people. And I realized how I’ve been trying to tone it down in my posts to sound more mature (since adults are supposed to be bitter and miserable and jaded). But screw that today! Joy.nu turned four! I’m giddily happy. I really don’t have a choice.
Met up with some old friends over the weekend. Love them to bits. We’ve all grown up, changed. Yet putting the same old bunch of people together is more than enough to transport everyone back in time, like nothing has changed. Joelle is still the math freak no matter how pretty she has become, Xinying will always be the chatterbox (well, because she still is anyway). We’re collectively the same childish bunch of teenagers we once were, doing silly things like hang out at the beach, spying on people making out. The last time we hung out at the beach was almost ten years ago. Damn. Time flies.
Met up with Qianni and Sylvia very recently too. Love them to bits too! I’ve got many friends, but there are only a handful I keep close to heart (Paul, Aileen baby and Meimin etc). Damn cliche but friends forever!!! And violets are blueee. Haha.
So anyway I’ve been seeing someone for months. Finally gotten myself into a relationship after three years! Three years sounds like a very long time, but I was so busy and so drunk on life that I barely noticed.
I’ve changed since my last relationship. I’m glad. I look back and I see someone immature, selfish, petty. Now, in bitsy steps, I’m learning how to give, how to take care of another person instead of being so princessy all the time, how to say what I’m feeling as it is, to be direct and straightforward even if it puts me in a vulnerable state. It feels amazing having a clean slate to start on. I’m learning how to tread carefully yet let myself go. But I feel in control. It’s all good.
And what would I be without my closests. I love my Mum and Dad. I love my sisters. I’ll willingly give my life for any one of them. And I’m so thankful I get to see them everyday.
Work’s great, School’s good.
Life is so wonderful to me right now, I can’t ask for more. And I really have no choice but to be happy.
I saw this rant over at Slashdot. Hilarious! It’s about time a REAL geek step up and comment on smartass geek wannabes popping up everywhere.
Doug,
If you weren’t aware of it before, you probably know it by now. Anything interesting or useful that rears its head on Slashdot will likely be ripped to shreds by what has quickly become the nets most vicious and petty peanut gallery.
Slashdottians know nothing, they accomplish nothing, and their opinions are worth nothing. They are uniformly bitter, small-minded geeks who overestimate their own importance and their own skillz. They are, for the most part, losers. Their biggest accomplishment is in insulting others’ spelling and grammar, attacking the GPL license despite their grade level understanding of it, and tricking people into clicking on goatse.cx links. They are know-it-all blowhards who use their computers primarily for Pornography and online gaming, at which they cheat regularly to offset their complete lack of motor skills.
Despite touting the wonderous greatness of linux and open source, they all use Windows and Internet Explorer. They like Macs because of OSX, but want it to run on X86 so they can steal a copy and give nothing back. They will eventually buy a Mac due to their inability to run Windows without crashing it constantly by their own stupidity, and become raving unbalanced lunatics who do more harm than good for the Mac community by claiming that the G4 is quadruple the speed of a dual 3Ghz Xeon box.
They lie about their own experience to make their case, and when you win an argument with them, they post anonymously in order to tell you they’ve had sex with your mother.
Don’t become a regular here, you will become retarded.
What a heartfelt rant. I LOVE IT!

Safari. Now on Windows too. And it’s true! Safari is blazing fast!
Even the fonts look different, lovelier. I don’t think it’s the Holy Helvetica because that’s too good to be true if not impossible (point is, why does everything look so much better on Apple’s User Interface?). I’m a typography whore, someone send me Helvetica fonts pretty please.
I would have switched if I’m not breathing through my Firefox Extensions.
Anyway, I found a cute series of bunny emoticons.

Hello! Who is this? Me! That’s who!

School Update

For my course, I can either go on Research Track or Coursework Track.
For Research Track, I need to do a Research Paper, equivalent of 2 modular credits.
For Coursework, I need to work on a Critical Inquiry Project with 2 other students. This is worth credits equivalent to one module only.
I usually prefer working on a team, but working with the wrong people can literally drain away your life. And I had life shortened last semester, so at that point, doing a Research Paper by myself sounds very very appealing.
Then I was discussing this with a Schoolmate today.
C says (11:53 AM):
either do with Yanling or will do some logistic related one
*{nu} says (11:54 AM):
by when need to confirm? or maybe I’ll just do CI instead.
C says (11:55 AM):
as early as possible so that we can start
*{nu} says (11:55 AM):
then I join you two can?
C says (11:56 AM):
we are actually waiting for your decision haha
*{nu} says (11:56 AM):
ahah okok
Heh. How nice. Seems like I’m switching back to Critical Inquiry again. At least I know these two will not throw shit at me. Good, I’m looking forward to school now. I’m getting lazy.
Anyway, I got back my exams result. I guess I did alright.
Ain’t complaining.

My sister went to Fifteen London and is raving about the food there.
But she brought home 4 boxes of Krispy Kreme. So she’s partly forgiven.
*edits*
She got me Miss Van Stuff! She’s completely forgiven!
Happy Birthday Scott Adams

Today I turned 50. It’s an odd thing. I sure don’t feel 50. I’m in perfect health. Apparently that mumbo jumbo about good diet and exercise actually works.
Today the radio and newspapers will report my age as if it is news. Throughout the weekend, strangers will see me from a distance, mouth “happy birthday†and smile. I’ll enjoy it every time.
When I was 20, I wondered what it would be like to be 50. None of my guesses were close. I assumed that “aging†was automatically bad, so I didn’t look forward to it. No one told me that having more friends and fewer zits would feel like a good tradeoff. And if you told me I could have my twenty-year old body again, but I had to take my twenty-year old brain with it, I’d pass.
My cat Sarah is sitting near my feet, as she has every day for the past eighteen years of my cartooning career. She spends the first ten minutes of my day yelling at me to pet her before I do anything productive. I hate the distraction, but not as much as I love it. Today she’ll get a little extra petting.
I love my wife. I love my family. I love my job. I love my life. And I love you too, even when you’re grumpy. And I love being 50.
Here’s what I want you to do for my birthday. Send someone an e-mail and tell them how much you appreciate them, or love them. Do it right now. Then tell me about it in the comments. That’s what I want. It’s my birthday so you have to do it.
Go.

In events, you’ll meet some really bitchy snotty people. And there are people who pretend to be nice but you can always sense a certain I’m superior vibe they give off. Ah whatever.
This gorgeous babe was really nice though. Was working with a Korean company and one of the Korean guys who I was friendly with said something about her being the most beautiful girl he has ever seen. I told him I am so gonna tell her and he totally flipped. He started pulling my arms and stuff. Claire saw this, rushed over, pulled me aside and asked if that guy was harassing me. She looked so fierce, but gosh…what a heroine she is.
Check out 8 Days, y’all.
And this is cute. From Luella.

2007 Summer Movies Review (sorta)
Spiderman: Good popcorn entertainment.
Pirates of the Carribean: Better popcorn entertainment.
Shrek: Yawn.
Zodiac: AHHHHHHHHH I LOVEEEEE!!!!!!!! AM OBSESSED WITH IT NOW.
Ok I was once really intrigued by Jack the Ripper (please don’t think I’m weird) and while reading about Jack, I got to know about the Zodiac Killer. So I was pretty thrilled when I found out about the movie. And then there’s that HUGE sexy cherry in the form of Jake Gyllenhaal!? Help.
Anyway watch it. Watch Zodiac!!!
