Caught the BEP at the Indoor Stadium on Monday. A birthday present from a few of my darling friends! Muacks! Miss Fergie exceeds my expectations. She can actually sing! And when she did a series of frontflips with her right hand while holding the microphone in her left, my jaw literally dropped. Why didn’t Fergie pull stunts like this in her music videos? This is the type of things people should flaunt about. If I can do that, I’ll be flipping in any situation that warrants a flip, like on the way to the toilet, crossing the road etc.
The concert isn’t as good as Christina Aguilera’s Back to Basics though. Christina is just…wow. Love her to death.
Baby have to leave during the BEP’s encore to catch his plane to Shanghai for work. I walked him down to the car waiting for him and went back to the concert for the remaining performances. They were about to sing “Let Get It Started”. Whatever It is. See, the problem with the BEP concert is that the songs don’t invoke emotions.
Christina is a different, I practically grew up with her. And I is able to identify with a lot of her songs. For example.
“So many tears I’ve had to cry,
But you had many more of your own you had to try
But you stuck it out and you’re here with me now”
After all the hoops I put you through,
Now I see that I’m in love with you
Time went on, and I was wrong
To keep my distance for so long.
So afraid, you wouldn’t stay
But you never turned away
Always right by my side
You’re forever in my life
Don’t you go
‘Cause now I know
That in you I found a home.
Baby come back!
The last week was one of the best. Met up with a few of my secondary school chums for cycling. Quadruple date! I realize I fit nicely with the happily attached people now. They no longer wonder what my problem is.
My problem was, I haven’t met Baby. Duh!
Sometimes when I meet couples, I try to fit in by bringing my dates along, but it was just different you know?
Honestly, single or attached. It really doesn’t matter. I felt complete when I was single, and that’s all that matters. Because when people like me do eventually become attached, it’s quite clear we didn’t do it out of say, inadequacy or the need for physical gratification or social stigma or rebound or plain loneliness or other various wrong reasons.
This is why I will not give my single friends some of the silly things some friends were always subjecting me to.
Friend: Don’t club too much or nobody will want you!
Me: I don’t really care.
Friend: Right.
Me: HUH?!
“In your singleness you are greater still than very much who are two.” quote Paul. To a handful of my single, nonetheless awesome friends….embrace your singlehood, you’re making it rock!!!!
Baby and my friends threw me a surprise party! It meant a lot because I know how unbelievably busy they all are, asking them out individually is tough enough. Together? Hello!?
Meimin: So happy to see you!!!! I could have died of heart attack. Tsk. Risky.
Paul: Miss your corniness so much man.
Jackson: We finally got to hang out and play silly games again!
Arpita: No party is fun without you, thanks for the sunflower!
Aileen: Baby!!!! You’re so sweet!
Marcus: You’re sleeping on my bed as I write this. Look at your face! Damn cute lah. I’ll have to go kiss you in a minute.
Thanks for the fun and laughter and the birthday gift! Muahahaha. It’s perfect!
Not forgetting all the other friends who got me something too. Like my JC friends, my very lovely sister who got me this gorgeous vintage looking hanging lamp much to the annoyance of my mum, my lovely colleagues, Mui Hiang, Pink Jr who said “I Love You” and gave me cookies. Muacks!
Thanks for all the birthday dinners and lunch treats. And all the well wishes from various people too.
Heh. I’m loved. Thanks.
Baby brought me to Gallery Hotel on my birthday. He chose that hotel because he knows I’m into artsy stuff. Awfully sweet and thoughtful. <3
Room 639, Mr Mocca Wannabe, Room Hip to be Square, Dinner at Hot Stone, cantilevered glass-sided pool, obligatory bathroom shot.
Love you loads baby! You’re absolutely darlingarifically wonderful!
Had my birthday dinner with my family earlier. We had seafood at a seafood restaurant at Railway Mall (Bukit Timah). I planned to have dinner at Graze at Rochester Park but the rain made me decide otherwise. We ordered steamed fish, pepper crab, chili crab with fried buns, homemade beancurd, broccoli, fried rice, loads of desserts. Bill was reasonable at $203. Service was good, food is satisfactory. What the hell, after the bad experience at Sin Huat, everywhere is good service.
Anyway here’s my new Baby!!!

It’s a HP Pavilion Slimline S3200D. Love it! CPU looks damn slick and small! And I am totally loving my 19″ wide screen monitor!
And the present from the other baby, my darling boyfriend!

Damn cute! Thanks love!
The bag is sitting on my one time favourite gadget.

A HP Photosmart C5180 All-in-One (Scanner, printer, copier). It was gift too. Muahahaha!
Anyway, the boyfriend got me a Brilliant Rose diamond pendant too. Honestly, it’s much easier for me to see beauty in gadgets. Or paintings. But I love this to bits anyway, I’m wearing it everyday so it feels like I have my Baby by my side all the time.
Oh and last but not least, Windows Vista is effin gorgeous!

Visited Sin Huat and paid S$105 for 15 miserable Prawns. I think that’s bizarre, bordering extortion.
It was a dinner/birthday celebration, courtesy of Baby’s mum. And the bill came up to $359, 4 dishes. Ack.
Anyway, here’s a nice article on how to read a painting. I agree that developing a casual understanding of art is not difficult and this article is pretty helpful in getting anyone started. Enjoy!
At the meantime, I’m still enjoying my birthday week. Or should it be birthday month? In fact, the whole of 2007 is awesome!
Had a Birthday Lunch on Thursday with my colleagues (Thanks y’all!), received a surprise birthday present on Friday morning! My first present!
My class presentation on Friday evening went well despite some technical hiccups.
Baby and I fixed each other a jigsaw puzzle earlier. He’s displaying the one I fixed in his room, I’m bringing mine to office.
Baby gave me 2 birthday presents! His mum bought me stuff from her recent overseas trip too.
My new computer is coming on Monday. Present from Dad and Mum. <3
My birthday’s on Thursday, I’ve got a birthday off from work.
This week’s gonna be great.
Remember I mentioned buying something from Fafi a while back? It’s here!

I used to be upset about Aileen baby looking a lot like Fafinettes. She really do. So it is a bit disconcerting to be wearing that and looking in the mirror and seeing your friend pouting back at you.
Facebook
Inspired by Kevin‘s blog about features in facebook.
Here’s my compare people ranking in facebook.

Oh really! The algorithm is flawed. I don’t even travel.
But this can be quite flattering I must say…. UNTIL I looked at the bottom rankings and saw that generally, people do not think of me as loyal or smart or hardworking or responsible. Oy! That is mean. I’m so glad LinkIn doesn’t have things like these.
Anyway, enough of facebook fluff.
Here’s something serious. Please vote for Kevin Lim for a College Blogger Scholarship.
Braces update

This is my teeth, six weeks after I put on my braces.
I wanted to take a picture on the first day but I thought the shifting would be painfully slow so I procrastinated until recently. If you don’t remember how my teeth looked like, here it is!

Happy Monthivesary.
Could be the wave of nostalgia, could be the rise of occasions that bring us together again.
I’m talking to people I haven’t been speaking to for a while. After the cordial greetings and small talk, some friendships are rekindled. But for many, I realize that all we have in common now are shared memories. And there’s really nothing else.
I guess the heart can only accommodate a handful of people. I mean, there must be an exclusive selection of people you’re willing to grow old with right? Your family, your close friends and prolly all your friends in facebook.
Facebook in 40 years.Add me and grow old with me (if you already know me).

Mike Leavitt does art sculptures of artists. Amazing! There’s Andy Warhol, the father of Pop Art. Banksy, the infamous graffiti artist whom I totally adore because he’s brilliant and hilarious. There’s Fafi and Lori Earley, the super cool Natalia Fabia and cute Lisa Petrucci. My favorite figure though, is the one of Audrey Kawasaki.

Haha! While the other action figures are mere depiction of each artist. Kawasaki’s version is a mash of the artist AND the art. For example, her choice of medium has always been wood panels. Although, one must note that she was working on a canvas piece just a month ago, and has promised to do more.
Ok. I have to stop stalking her.

A revamp coming up. I’ve got a project to do for school. The project will be creating a website. My website.
When you have work and study and life to juggle with, what you end up being really good at, is shooting birds with one stone.
Problem is, I’ve really lost touch with web designing. Ahh!
