Nostalgia is part of growing old. I accept that. So let me begin showing you my past in drips and drabs. No long post filled with awkward pictures organized in chronological order. Snippets is the style of this blog, it is never meant to choke me with writing obligations.
At this point I have to add that many people thought I look younger. Recently, someone thought I look her age, 24. A few weeks ago, someone thought I was 22. Last year, when I was doing one event, this nus undergrad thought I was 20!? She honestly looked shocked when I said I was 24!
I can see my friends going, “Tsk. Delusional!”.
A part of growing old is also telling people how so and so thought I look younger. A sorta consolation. Let me indulge in that can!?
Anyway, this post is inspired by my friend, who uploaded many of our old pictures in facebook. I think you can see them from my page, but I’ll post them up anyway.

NPCC! Can you spot me?
Jessica Rose describes her art as fresh, modern, and whimsical. That’s too modest of her. Her little etsy store is flushed with good cheer, optimism and a whole lot of love.

I have not the courage of a hopeless romantic, not yet. But today, I’m letting the Warm Fuzzies reign.
I once wrote that I feel so happy all the time that I actually miss being not happy. And someone reputed saying that I don’t mean it. I know it may seem incomprehensible, depressing even. But sometimes you need to feel pain in order to feel more alive.
As expected, such thoughts vanished the moment shit hits the ceiling. And I can’t remember how did I get so jaded with happiness that I actually reached a point where I didn’t want it anymore (HOW!?).
But I believe, as always, that things will eventually get better, and it’ll be worth it.
I don’t understand why is it so difficult for people to be honest. Tell the truth and let them deal with it. I can deal with the truth. What I can’t handle, is finding out that I’ve been lied to. I have no capacity to forgive habitual liars.
Some people may think that I’m too anal about this and YES I know I’m super anal about it, so TAKE NOTE if you care! I have no qualms about throwing liars out of my life. I’ve known to turn cold and cruel to them.
Since we’re on the topic, there are no such things as white lies or half lies. White is subjective, usually through the eyes of the person telling the lie, which makes for useless defense. Half truths are worse than pure lies because besides lying, you’re exploiting the truth to confuse people! See how sly and cunning that is?
Ok enough rant. Time for pretty things.

My dreams turn to dust. But there’s something else to follow.
Today, someone from this agency asked if I’m interested to be a model. Being a model. Isn’t it very obvious to tell if you have what it takes? Point being, if you don’t look like a model, you don’t. Let the people with the crazy mix of good genes have their elusive job title and stop trying to gate crash! So I told him I’ve got a full time job, and I was beaming. Because I know exactly where I belong and I’m happy with that.
Yesterday, I had lunch at Flutes of the Fort again! A birthday treat for Aileen. We had…
Marinated Tuna in Ginger-Soy Dressing, with Wasabi Aioli and Pickled Cucumber Salad (nice)
Pan Fried Foie Gras with Morello Cherries and Warm Blinis (very nice!)
Grilled Lamb Chop with Garlic Mash, Sautéed Beans and Mountain-Pepper Sauce (not bad)
Spaghetti Aglio Olio with King Prawn and Cod (not bad)
Crepes with Mixed Berries served with Vanilla Sabayon and Maple-Walnut Ice-Cream (OMG! Heavenly!)
Aileen took pictures but knowing her, I’ll see them in another 10 years. You can look at the food pictures from this blog entry though. It’s becoming one of my favourite restaurant!
Sunday was spent watching the Season 2 of Gossip Girl and the Pilot of Greek. I like Greek but they should take the cue from Gossip Girl, that is, more eye-candies please!
Unlike JC days of Felicity, I actually feel a bit childish watching these teenboppish dramas. What happened to TV shows of my demographic!? How I miss F.R.I.E.N.D.s!
With the lack of interesting programs (besides House), me and Bunny have resort to watching animal documentaries, one of the few genres we can watch together without one feeling utterly bored. He’ll usually watch in quiet bemusement while I quip about how totally cute it would be if we could adopt a baby Rattlesnake.
Sidetrack. In one year, I realised how different we are. He loves shopping, I hate shopping. He has no interest in IT. I have no interest in Banking. In fact, I’m quite nasty about our differences.
Him: Blah Blah Blah (banking stuff).
Me: You know I’m not listening right?
Him: Front pocket or side pocket?
Me: Darling! They all look the same!
I know I’m mean! But really, if he asks me one more time if the white shirt with purple stripes looks better than the purple shirt with white stripes, I’m going to drown myself!
Reading
I’m currently reading Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice. I’m halfway done, I like it so far even though the story development is rather slow. A sign of good writing perhaps? You can find more updates of my reading in my BookJetty Profile.

unravelling : susannah – Whimsical and Colourful.
BBQ at Dawn’s earlier. She has a very handsome cat, four jumpy chinchillas and the cutest room ever. These are the pictures I took with LG’s KS20, the camera is best described as “Mai Hiam Si Buay Pai”.

It’s 2.25 am. I’ve gotta go to bed soon, I have movie to catch tomorrow morning. The Incredible Hulk. Groans. Obviously the boyfriend’s idea. He spent the whole night at the BBQ pit earlier, furiously fanning and cooking, so I ought to reward him.
“Edwin brought wine, Daniel brought food, I brought free labour!”
Classic photographs recreated with Lego Miniatures.

In some photographs, the smiley faces are not appropriate. It’s a good set nevertheles.
Few days ago, I had lunch at Flutes at the Fort. I had one of the set lunches which include…
Poached Egg with Black Truffle served on Mushroom Ragout (yum!)
Seared Cod With Tomato Concasse, Green Olives, Basil and Spinach Salsa (to die for!)
Raspberry Mousse Cheesecake topped with Blueberry Glaze (so-so)
I really love the Cod! I enjoyed every bite of it. Place is quiet and nice too. The picture below are taken from the website. Check out the lunch sets, value for money!

This week was fun. I think I’m falling in love with work. Updates!
Work
I’m enjoying it and I think it shows. Yesterday, we were looking at hotel suites for an upcoming event and someone asked who dragged me into it. One of our work partners was all “She’s enjoying it!” And I do! My big boss can be quite “quirky” to work with. By quirky, I mean challenging. But that is exactly what I was looking for!
Besides, my old collegues have been visiting. In fact, the ex-boss came by yesterday. She insists that all the ants have followed me to MDA because they vanished from my old office. Nonsense! No such things!
Books
This month, I’ve read Lord of the Flies and Shopaholic and Sister. I’m currently reading Atlantis, a Da Vinci Code wannabe only less believeable. For example, I can’t imagine people from the Neolithic era carving huge stone monuments? Seems like too much of a stretch don’t you think?
New Toy
LG’s KS20! A present from Bunny. No, it’s a trade. I gave him a LV organiser in return, a win-win situation. He wanted to buy me an iPhone when he was in the States but I insisted on getting something that runs on Windows Mobile. Simply because Microsoft is sexier and those Apple Fanboys are seriously getting on my nerves.
Cool geeks use Apple. A stupid stereotype that Apple happily took advantage of. Half the people can’t even cough up sensible justifications of using Apple products. Bunch of raving lunatics. Roll eyes.
Anyway, I happen to have a meeting with people from Apple right now. Tata~
*edits* The people from Apple worship their company. I told them my dismay over irrational behaviors of Apple Fans and they didn’t like them either. Guess we are on the same plane in this case.
I know Geeks. In my industry, it is impossible to not know some. But I think I’m really one of the geekiest person I know. At least for this weekend. These couple of days was all about novels, computer arcade games, website coding and SmallWorlds.

A screen capture of my SmallWorlds pad. Hey look, the framed pictures syncs with my Flickr account! *coughs*loser*coughs* I’m going to make an avatar for my Bunny later!
Bunny and I went to Garibaldi recently. He had Veal Ravioli with Mushroom and Cream Sauce while I had Spinach Lasagne with Prawns and Scallops. The food was distinctly superior compared to our usual fare (Al Dente, Menotti, Casa Roma, Pasta Fresca) and the service was top-notched. Enjoyable dinner all in all.

Leesa Leva and 18 other Artists You Can’t Afford To Miss. All the usual suspects, hardly surprising.
I’ve set up an account at bookjetty. Support local start-ups! I’m a bit nervous about the lack of export functions. I’ve added mostly the books I own because I don’t remember the ones I borrowed from the library. Oh well, we can start all over again.
Kisses on my hands.
A question. An answer.
Midnight Magic.
A song streaming through the air.
Carrying a tune of love. That speaks of how a man loves a woman.
A kiss on the lips. His silly grin.
A Beginning.
That was something I wrote in my journal, one year ago. And this morning…
Him: How come one year already and you’re still such a cutie pie?
Me: (scoffs) One year only what, we’ll see if you would say that in 50 years.
Him: Without the first, we can’t have 50.
So we find ourselves at the beginning again. And there will be many more to come.
Happy Anniversary Bunnieeee!

Pink Jr is taking her O’levels this year. Do I reminisce my sweet sixteen? Not really, not when I have to go through the Os, the As, the undergraduate and graduate studies all over again.
Second sister is back from USA! She brought home art, books, chocolates and half of my wardrobe.
I was looking forward to reading “Pride and Prejudice” on Friday night as the boyfriend engaged in his dubious activities. I was sorely disappointed when I couldn’t find the book in my bag and realized that I left it in office. Stopped by the communal library and to check my luck but all copies were on loan.
I browsed around for something else to occupy my weekend and I was surprised to find “Lord of the Flies”! A title that has been on my reading list for some time.
At first, I wanted to find something light to tide my reading crave until I get my book back. But I didn’t wanna interrupt my good read with another potential good read, you know what I mean? So I dropped by the book store to pick up another copy of “Pride and Prejudice”. I’ve got “Emma” too! Couldn’t have been more pleased.
I’m done with the book. Looking forward to watching the movie after this post.
Other movies I’ve watched this weekend. CJ7, Golden Compass and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Even the rich and famous cannot turn back the hands of time.
???????? ????? ????????
Anyway, meant to blog this a while ago. Pixel Art!
