I’ve got no access to any graphic editing software that doesn’t piss me off. So a couple of things I wanna blog about will have to wait. For those who want to know, the picture collages are done using photoshop CS3 (although most earlier versions will do). I’m currently lusting over CS4.

Since starting work here my complexion has been bad. Grrr. Stupid zits, go plague the youth, hunt me with the right skin problems at the very least. Geez.

Month 12. And in a blink it’ll pass. 2008 will be gone. Ahhhh Shit.

I want a new skill next year. Or a couple of renewed skills. I used to read the stars, the patterns have gone fuzzy. I used to play the piano, the keyboards are so foreign. Or I could pick up something new.

MEME TIME

WHO ARE U? Girl living by her temporary obsessions. Recurring ones are Bill Gates, The Internet, junk food, zit popping and creating her own Catch 22s.

WHO/WHAT INSPIRES U? People that lives on what they have and not on what they do not have. Evolution, that things can change. Lone Travellers.

WHAT ARE UR CURRENT OBBESSIONS? Brutal honesty, inappropriate snacking, telling Bunny he’s fat, keeping my fingers away from my face, milky bright skin.

WHAT IS UR DREAM OCCUPATION? Fun projects with fun people. New things to try everyday. Appreciation. Comfortable living.

IF U COULD BUY ANYTHING WHAT WOULD IT BE? A glimpse into the future. Answers to all questions.

WHAT ATTRACTS U? Beautiful people, pretty things, upbeat music, wordplay

WHO IS UR IDEAL MAN? Honesty, Wit, “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you”, Respectable.

WHO IS THE MOST HANDSOME PERSON ON EARTH? My Dad :P

WHAT DO U THINK ABOUT FASHION? Frivolous but fun.

WHAT IS UR BIGGEST DREAM? Riding the Rainbows on a Pony because current modes of transportation are inefficient.

WHAT CLOTHES DO U PREFER? Miniskirts/Microshorts. I can wear FBT shorts forever and ever.

WHAT DO U DO WHEN YOUR ALONE? Enjoy the loneliness, I love being alone, I’ll read books, watch DVDs, channel surf, ending in Discovery, singing aloud on iTunes while rocking the spider solitaire, read my RSS feeds…

WHAT ARE UR PLANS FOR THE COMING YEAR? Lotta things happening without me planning. I say, come what may.

The first ACM SIGGRAPH Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques in Asia opens in Singapore on 10 December 2008.

SIGGRAPH is the Special Interest Group on Graphics and Interactive Techniques, one of the 34 Special Interest Groups of the Association for Computing Machinery. Computer Science Academics would probably be familiar with Journal of the ACM, a scientific journal that covers significant work going on in computer science.

This is the first time SIGGRAPH conferences are held in Asia. And it sounds exciting.

I’ve died and gone to geek heaven.

Fifth time being one of the sisters and it’s about time I’m officially tired of Weddings. Yet, Joelle and Jason’s wedding managed to throw in a few surprises. Like how little planning there were yet everything fell neatly into place, the surprise performance by the Groom instead of a usual march in, the heartfelt speech made by Joelle to her mum and us! Congrats to the newlyweds, you’ve pulled off a memorable night for all of us.

And Joelle, my fondest memories of us is all our silly discussions (by the road) about our various crushes back in school. You and your J, Me and my A. Glad you’re sticking with your letter and me? M N O P, it doesn’t really matter. Bunny is in every letter of the alphabet.

The Drawing Room

A feminine art show curated by Audrey Kawasaki.
Here are pictures from opening night and the featured works by Audrey and her friends. The pieces by Brian M. Viveros are gorgeous!

One fine day, when I’m feeling bloody damn rich, I’ll invest on something. But the thought of hanging an expensive piece of art in my tiny messy room is quite ridiculous. The want, the means but not the place.

On Relationships
Strange how relationships that should theoretically work out fine can screw up so easily. We are all fighting against the odds, and there are plenty. Which is why it seems miraculous that people can get together, stay together and still manage to be so in love.

In the course of my relationship, we had our fair share of misunderstandings, he has friends who cautioned him about me (and vice versa), there were people who were not happy about us, some resorted to childish behaviors…we ourselves have acted immaturely to each other. Yet being together never felt so natural and easy. For once, I am not consumed by trying to make things work and completely missing out on what a good relationship should bring – new perspectives, shared experiences, security and above all, happiness.

We are at a good place, and we are having fun. Life is great!

Sunday

Double Date with JRMM + Wild Rocket at Mount Emily + Feta Pancakes with Blueberry Confit is a Bimbo + Scrambled Eggs Always Score + Wild Moments Photography Exhibit + 24 Pieces of Wild Magic + Singapore Flyer with the Family + Dinner at Seafood Paradise

Wild Rocket is said to be one of the better places for Breakfast but it fails to deliver. Seafood Paradise was great but the top recommendation, creamy butter crab didn’t sit well with me.

Anyway, Ling has a photography exhibition at 2902 Gallery from 06 – 23 Nov. I went there today and the photos are amazing. Ling is one of the most talented person I know, this photography is just one of her many hobbies and she has a freaking show. Like seriously, trying to make the rest of the World look bad? Mission accomplished.

With artwork that reeks of The Bunny Conspiracy. How can I resist?

What’s this infatuation with Bunnies? Honestly, I didn’t even like bunnies. I like dogs, I love Yorkshire Terriers, I was obsessed with owning a Yorkie named Bunny, just to annoy everyone. I was thinking about it so much that Bunny became a term of endearment for me.

Updates

Longest week of 2008! I had a fever for almost a week. Stomach Flu apparently. Phew. Before I knew what it was, I was doing differential diagnosis through Google and scaring myself. Smartass move but a sure way to learn not take health for granted for there are a millions of things that could go wrong. Our bodies are wonderful, love it!

Also I’m currently addicted to Final Fantasy on DS Lite. Reminds of Ragnarok Online which I totally love! Guys, if you’re afraid of clingy whiny girls, you should turn to gamers. Sometimes, they even forget that you exist!

Francis gave us a nice breakfast treat. Dim sum at Chrystal Jade Palace! That’s it for my Birthday weekend! Thank you lovely friends for turning up!

- I have a fever since Saturday. The doctor says it should end its run soon. If not, she’ll give me a blood test on Wednesday. Bunny has been taking care of me, fetching stuff for me, forcing me to drink water, lowering my temperature by torturing me with a cold pack. Boys, score points when she’s sick and vulnerable, it’s like 4x reward points on what you spend.

- Sometime ago, me and Bunny was having dinner at Coffee Club (Takashimaya), one of our orders didn’t make it to the table. When asked about the item, the waitress checked and informed us that they had missed the order (she could have told us to wait, like most places do) and she was really apologetic about it. We told her it was fine and ordered drinks. When we asked for the bill, they told us that our dinner is on them because of that missed order.

- I decided to write that because Xiaxue’s horrible experience at Phin’s made me realize just how unappreciative I was. Good service should not be taken for granted. That said, I don’t think I’ll do well in the service line, not when I feel like smacking Singaporeans half the time.

With no time to prepare you just have to make do with what you have. I’ve got everything for Britney’s school girl outfit in “Hit Me Baby, One More Time”. I’m still kicking myself for leaving my black skirt at home! So I have to make do with my black micro shorts, and that made me look skanky and cranky.

Bunny got annoyed and said something horrid and totally ruined it.

Anyway, a few things on my shopping list.

Navy blue blazer with gold buttons, leathery shiny leggings, buckled high heel ankle boots, high waist tulip skirt. I wish someone can shop for me.
