This is New

I’m the current top user in myfilmz. I thought I was only a geek, now I realise I’m a film buff too! Here’s the list of movies I’ve watched, it is faaaar from being complete. I’m thinking, did I have that much time to watch that many movies? Do you know what this means, this means I have no life.

It also means that when I say a movie is good, you ought to believe me, cuz I’m a no life movie freak yo. Here are my favourite movies!

Best teen flick: Center Stage. Ballet is my favourite form of dance, even above street dance. Ballet is so aristocratic, graceful, magical…there are no other dance like it (Street dance is actually classified under social dance so I don’t think it’s fair to compare). In addition, I can somehow relate to the protagonist. :P

Best Horror: Shutter. I watch loads of horror films but I don’t really see the point now cuz I’m rarely frightened. Shutter is a bit creepy though. When it comes to horror films, the asians really does them better.

Best Musical: Moulin Rouge. So dreamlike. Beautiful set, gorgeous Nicole Kidman.

Best Romance: Pretty Woman. Awwww.. shweet!

Best Animation: Spirited Away. Disney may have Pixar’s technology but when it comes to animations, the Japanese does them best!

Best Fantasy: Lord of the Rings. A wonderful fantasy epic. The details and dedication that went into the book is staggering and Peter Jackson did a great adaptation. Justice done!

My ultimate favourite movie: Shawshank Redemption. It didn’t do well in the box office but did amazing in video rentals. That means the marketing sucks but movie is damn good. I really really love this film!

Other notable movies: Closer, Amelie, Cinema Paradiso, Legally Blonde! Hahaha.

best horror: what happened to the ring? if u like shutter you should play the ps2 game fatal frame.. same concept but i bet its 10x scarier.

best musical: oh i loved it! the movie amde me cry like siao. 7 times i think. nicole did a great job though i wish they got an actress that could actually sing.

best romance: couldn’t agree more. julia roberts + richard gere. nuff said.

oh not sure this will go to sg but u should watch pride and prejudice if you can. keira knightly was awesome! and jane austen is a classic!

also recently watched Rent, a movie adapted from the broadway musical. dont think it’ll ever reach sg though. too much controversy. hiv, homosexuality, defiance of authority etc. movie was ok. interesting plot, too draggy initially but the ending redeemed it. singing was not bad but not that fantastic either.

going to watch narnia next. and memoirs of a geisha. the trailers look really REALLY good. =D

Baby, The Ring is NOT scary at all! Ahahaha only maybe the last part where she crawl outta the TV. The hollywood version is like laughable. They made something somewhat scary to something laughable. Nice.

Oh yea will try to watch pride too, kinda like keira knightly.

I hope narnia is good! the last of 3 films I was looking forward to watch this year.

HP was ok, charlie and the chocs is disappointing..hope narnia is good!
